Default Ascension Test {Spoilers}

As those of you who have Ascended or know poeple who have Ascended know, after beatin Elona Reach, Thirsty Rivers, and Dunes of Despair you have to fight a mirror of yourself to ascend. What did you do to beat the mirror?

I was a lvl 18 R/E when I tried it and with my normal skillset I got hit way too hard by his attacks. Finally I decided to go more E than R and took Firestorm, Meteor Shower, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Conjure Flame, Troll Unguent, and Whirling Defense. I used Conjure on a Fire Wand and AoEed him to death. I never had to touch lvl 19.

my mirror battle was totaly simple, i did it with my warrior, and i took mostly sword skills, and for some reason , my mirror had a BOW! it took all of 15 seconds to chop him to death....has anyone else had this happen, i heard this was supposed to be really hard, the bow looked like my preorder ithas bow, does that have anything to do with it?

please reply if you know something

R/Mes

I simply loaded up on nature rituals that took 5 secs to cast. He spended a full 15 secs with casting those. It was enough jump start for me.

It amazed me that his base bowdamage was higher then mine. Anyone can explain this?

Eh, the mirror is more like you facing a convex mirror of yourself. It's just like you, except bigger.

I've heard that you shouldn't take any healing skills to fight it... is this helpful?

yeah, because if you do take healing skills, it will also have healing skills, which will end up hurting...

Warrior/Elementalist

I went in thinking I was gonna piss my pants trying to keep myself up. I slapped myself when I was done!

I went in (Axe/Fire) and he cast Firestorm right off. That gave me plenty of time to hack and slash at him. Then I turned it up a notch, cuz he did first, and threw down some Frenzy! He was slaughtered in 30 seconds flat and I was still above 150 health. Only used Frenzy once and touched nothing else 'cept to flatten him and look at his tiny little pieces of what remained of him when I was through!

The End (and then some)

~ I thought, when I entered, that he would mimic my every move. Thats where I was wrong and the upper hand was decidedly mine!

As a monk/ele, I took in Healing Breeze, Firestorm, Bane Signet, and buffs I wasn't using. I just Firestormed and Bane Signeted when they recharged while dodging the mirror's firestorms. It took five minutes (I had maxed Healing Prayers/Divine Favor), but the mirror eventually went down.

For some reason alot of people seem to be getting mirrors who constantly use a bow instead of melee, obviously this is vastly simpler without any marksmanship skills. Key to beating him is preparation and forcing him to prepare during the battle, gives you a decided advantage when he has to cast a spell for 5 seconds and you begin by knocking him down, interrupting him, and just sort of opening wide the gap you'll continue.

I just ran a W/El through that last night. I equipped Healing Signet and took out Firestorm. As soon as I got in the room I did a conjure flame for my Dragon Sword ran up to him and swung as he spam flared me. He infernoed me and then did the Healing on himself since I was knocking him down pretty good.. Nice/Bad thing about that darned Healing Signet.. You take dbl damage when its in use.. Nice time for my own inferno.. hehe

Mind you it took me 3 tries to get that combo.. Still trying to figure out how his Firestorm did dbl the damage of my meteor shower did to him..
